Every run works alone or with up to three friends. The host's Sanctuary is the lobby.

  • Hosting: open Play Together from the main menu and choose who can join: friends, anyone, or invite only, a party size of two to four, an optional password, and friendly fire. Then open your Sanctuary; friends join, ready up and enter the forest together.
  • Joining: parties show in one list with who's hosting, whether they're in the Sanctuary or on an expedition, and how many are in. You can also join with an invite code.
  • Late joiners start from the Sanctuary and catch up.
  • Loot is per player. Drops and chests are rolled for each of you, so nobody fights over a chest.
  • Gates and vaults open for everyone. One key opens a sealed vault for the whole party, and a solved puzzle raises its cage for all.
  • The dead fight whoever is nearest, switching when another player is clearly closer.
  • Friendly fire is the host's choice.
  • Graves: a friend who dies for good leaves their gear in a grave for you to carry home. See graves.
  • The sky is shared: Weather is rolled from the run's seed, so everyone sees the same storm.
