Armour that layers cleanly, Mythic everything, the item menu
- Armour no longer clips, on either body, in any combination.
- A new test wears every piece, and every pair of pieces that can be worn together, on both bodies. It checks three things:
- Against the body: no piece sinks into the skin, standing or with the arms up.
- Against each other: where two pieces cover the same skin (helm and collar, robe and leggings, cuff and sleeve, greave and boot, necklace and helm), the two surfaces never lie together.
- In motion: robes, skirts, tabards and capes stay over all seven kinds of leg armour, at three points of the running stride and crouched.
- Robes and long skirts:
- The front of a robe goes partly with the thighs from the waist down, and the sides follow them too. A stride or a crouch carries the cloth instead of going through it.
- The middle of the front shares both thighs, so the leg striding forward carries it.
- The robe hangs a little fuller in front and behind.
- The slit starts higher, so each half follows its own leg.
- Short skirts (gambeson, mail, scale, brigandine, jerkin): near the waist the skirt moves as the skin under it does, so the seat and hips carry it as the thigh swings.
- Tabards: the front panel hands over to the thighs sooner and stands further off the legs. A crouch folds it over the knees.
- Cloaks: the cape stands further off lower down. Its middle rides the thighs, so a heel kicking back carries it. Its wide sides stay with the hips, so they don't swing round to the front.
- Leg armour under a skirt or robe leaves off what would stand out through it:
- tasset lames (also under a cuirass, which has its own)
- raised knee cops
- the top of a greave's or bone-leg's thigh plate
- Hips:
- Every body piece stands at least 1.4 cm off the skin over the hips, clear of anything worn on the legs.
- Mail chausses sit closer in.
- Under body armour, a pair of trousers' waistband stops lower and leaves off its belt.
- Belts, sashes and faulds are now rings built from the body's own outline. They were cut from its vertices, which round the waist are too far apart for a narrow band, so they came out as slivers or a patch on the belly. This fixes:
- the pilgrim's rope and the vestment's sash
- a plate harness's faulds
- the tassets' belt
- the trousers' belt
- Hands:
- Bracers, claws and glove cuffs sit over any sleeve. Their edges no longer fall on the sleeve's edge.
- Under plate arms, bracers and cuffs give way to the vambrace.
- Hand wraps are one wrapping instead of seven ragged strips.
- Head and neck:
- A helm's aventail sits over any collar.
- A hood, or a mask's mantle, sits over a cloak's or pelt's collar.
- The great helm's top now overlaps its barrel; on the taller head a gap had shown the scalp.
- The great helm and the barbute stop short of the shoulders.
- Feet:
- A greave's shin plate stands over a boot's shaft.
- A fur boot's cuff stands over the greave.
- Knees: the black patches on trousers, leggings and chausses are gone.
- Boots and sabatons have a rounded toe box instead of showing every toe.
- Necklaces hang the way a real one does.
- The chain is measured round the neck and over whatever is worn: skin, cloth, mail, a cuirass or a fur collar. It lies on it a few millimetres proud, from the nape over the collarbones to the breastbone.
- Metal chains are linked rings. Fangs, feathers and pouches hang on a cord.
- The pendant hangs at the front on a bail, tilted to the chest.
- Every weapon, armour piece, shield and trinket comes in all six rarities, Mythic included.
- A Mythic make of ordinary gear is named so ("Mythic Iron Sword"). It outclasses the Legendary: bigger bonuses, smaller drawbacks.
- It shimmers like the named uniques.
- A Mythic find is now a named unique 40% of the time, and a Mythic make of the table's ordinary gear otherwise.
- Supplies and catches are never Mythic.
- Right-click an item in the inventory to open its menu. What it offers depends on where the item is:
- Inspect: the item's 3D model on a lit turntable beside its card.
- Drag to turn it, scroll to zoom, R or a double-click to reset.
- The card compares it with what you have on.
- Equip or Equip (swap), Draw for weapons, Use for consumables (on an expedition).
- Unequip, or take it off the belt.
- Split stack: half into a free slot.
- Put in stash or Take into pack.
- Insure or Remove insurance, at the stash.
- Sort pack or Sort stash.
- Drop: Rare and better asks you to confirm.
