Real trees, real leaves, and no trees in the casino
The casino:
- Fixed: trees no longer grow through the Gilded Ossuary. The Sanctuary's surroundings measured the crag from the keep's square walls only, so the casino (which juts out of the south wall, x -11..17, z 17..30) stood over the cliff edge, and pines and boulders were placed inside it.
- The crag's apron now runs round the casino, so the hall stands on rock and nothing is planted within a few metres of it.
- Pines: taller and narrower, with eight or nine whorls of drooping, star-shaped branch tiers.
- The tiers are jagged at the edge, light at the tips and dark underneath, and turned so no two line up.
- There are the odd short or broken branches low down, and a leader at the top.
- Trunks run the full height on a flared root.
- The Sanctuary's valley and the main menu use the same pines.
- Oaks (new): about one tree in five in the Cursed Forest. A short, thick, leaning bole splits into crooked limbs spreading wide, under a broad autumn crown.
- The crown is clumps of leaf cards round shadowed cores, using a generated spray-of-leaves texture.
- Clumps shade like soft balls, shiver in the wind and let light through from behind.
- Each oak has its own colour: rust, ochre, dead brown, sickly yellow-green or blood red.
- A litter of fallen leaves lies round each one, every leaf set on the ground where it lies.
- Dead trees: thicker, crooked snags with branching limbs and broken tips instead of a pole with four sticks.
- Each one is a folded, curled leaf mesh carrying one of four real leaf shapes (oak, maple, beech, birch).
- They tumble, spin and rock edge-on as they drift down, lit through from behind.
- Colours are mixed autumn: brown, rust, ochre, sickly yellow and a bruised red.
- They fade with a dither, so there's no transparency sorting.
- New screenshot modes:
--shots=trees(in the forest) and--shots=treegallery(every variant in daylight).
